The Short Version

WriteClean does not store your text. We do not require an account. We do not collect personal data. We do not sell anything to advertisers. This page explains that in more detail.

What We Collect

WriteClean collects the absolute minimum necessary to function:

• Text you submit for checking — This is sent to an AI API for processing and is not stored on our servers after the response is returned. We do not log your text, save it to a database, or associate it with any identifier.
• Anonymous usage analytics — We may collect aggregated, anonymous data about how the tool is used (number of checks per day, which features are used most). This data cannot be linked to individual users and contains no personal information.
• Standard server logs — Like all web servers, ours log IP addresses, page requests, and browser types for a limited period for security and performance monitoring. These are not used for user profiling.

What We Don't Collect

• No account information (we don't require one)
• No email addresses
• No payment information (the tool is free)
• No tracking cookies for advertising purposes
• No cross-site tracking

AI Processing

Text you submit is processed by an AI language model API. The API provider's privacy policy governs how that data is handled during processing. We do not send any personally identifiable information alongside your text to the API — only the text itself.

Cookies

WriteClean uses only functional cookies necessary for the tool to operate (such as remembering your voice-preserving mode preference during a session). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies that report to external services.

Third-Party Services

WriteClean uses Google Fonts for typography. Google's font serving may log font requests per their standard privacy policy. No other third-party services with data collection capabilities are embedded in this site.

Children's Privacy

WriteClean is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data tied to your identity, there is generally nothing to request deletion or access to. If you have concerns about data associated with your IP address in server logs, contact us at privacy@writeclean.app and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this page if our privacy practices change and notify users via a banner on the homepage. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
